John Howkins, famous economist and expert on creative industry research, explains the origin and content of creative industry and the positive perspective of developing creative industry in the future. He also elaborates innovatively several ways and channels to combine sports events with creative industry.

CHENG Tianquan, the Party Secretary of Renmin University is holding a speech on the opening ceremony of the forum. He had a detailed introduction of the supports of Renmin University to Olympic.

FENG Huiling, the vice president of Renmin University of China delivers a speech on the opening ceremony of the forum.

Prof. JIN Yuanpu, executive director of Humanistic Olympic Studies Center, is holding a keynote speech on the forum, with the theme of “The Opportunity of Olympic Games and Beijing Cultural Creative Industry”.

Graham Brown, professor of tourism management of University of South Australia , is delivering a speech themed “The Olympics and the re-positioning of Olympic Games' Host Cities”.

Desmond Hui, director of center of cultural policy research of Hong Kong University , is having a speech about the Olympic Games and Hong Kong Creative Industry.

XIONG Chengyu, director of cultural industry research center at Qinghua University delivers a speech on the creative industry and city re-build.

HUANG Qijun, CEO of Vantage Gas Appliance, is delivering a speech on the creative life of Olympic Games and Advantage Corporation.

Iain MacRury, co-director of London East Research Institute, is delivering a speech about the Olympics and branding: London 2012, commerce culture and regeneration.

QI Shuyu, vice director of National Administration Institure Research Lab, is holding a speech on the policy of the development of national Olympics industry.

SHEN Wangshu, vice director of the Capital Cultural Development Studies Center of Beijing Social and Science Institute, speaks on the theme of “Take Sydney Olympic Games as reference, hold the last business opportunity at Beijing2008 Olympic Games”

Nellie Cheng, project manager of 2010 Winter Olympic Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, introduced the related experience of Vancouver Olympic and development of the city, with the theme of ”Working toward a sustainable 2010 Vancouver Olympics”.

Dean Baim, professor of economics and finance of Pepperdine University , is listening the speeches on the forum. He delivered a speech themed in the development of Olympic-driven urban development. He introduced comprehensively evolution of the impacts of the past Olympics on the hosting cities.

Ferran Brunet, professor of economic from University of Autonomic Barcelona , present on the forum and delivered an impressive speech. His theme is the economic impact of the Olympic Games.

Beatriz Garcia, cultural consultant of London 2012 Olympic Games, is listening to the lectures on the forum. She delivered a speech on the cultural programming at the Olympic City. She also calls for the cooperation of the research institute throughout the world.

Roy Panagiotopoulou, professor of media and communication department of Athens University , attended on the forum. She also held an inspiring speech about the Citizen Participation in the Olympic Games.

Anthony Hughes, lecturer from school of history from the University of New South Wales, delivered a speech on the theme of “the Olympic Games and the education sector: a case study of the University of New South and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games”.

   The year 2006 will be a crucial and important year for making preparations for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Learning from the successful experiences of other Olympic Games, coordinating various resources, motivating the many elements in Chinese society to prepare for the Games are among the top concerns of citizens from all circles of society.

   The previous Olympic Games have had huge and extensive economical,cultural,and social impact on host cities. It makes sense to study and discuss the relationship between the Olympics and city development on a higher level and broader scope, especially the relationship between the XXIX Olympics and the development of Beijing . This forum has been jointly designed by Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad , Renmin University of China in Beijing with“Olympics and Development of Cultural Creative Industry”as its core theme.
